I painted this back in 2002 in response to the US's invasion of Afghanistan. Unfortunately children are the inevitable victims of war, not only in a physical sense but for a lifetime to come.

I've been so busy with my daily small paintings that I forgot to post this oil painting which I completed last year. The reference for this painting is a hand fan of which I have a collection. The original fan has detail work on it which I left out because I wanted to abstract it enough to give the feeling of serenity.
